From the Canandaigua Citizen:
Neighbors and friends of Stephen Cole and Canandaigua Citizenry,
As you may know Canandaigua City Manager Stephen Cole suffered a brain hemorrhage in August 2007. He has spent most of the rest of last year in Strong and the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for rehabilitation. A Stephen Cole Day has been scheduled for the first of March to raise awareness of his challenge and to raise money for his treatment. The day's event include:
$5 breakfast at Charlie's 7:30-11AM.
Run/Walk starting at the Fire Station at 8AM-suggested registration fee $20, registration begins at 7AM.
Basketball competition at the Middle School 1-3PM.
Concert at the United Church (located on the corner of Gibson and North Main) at 4PM.
Dinner with live and silent auction at Bella Lago 6-9PM, $25 dinner with desert and $10 desert only.
Funds raised during the events will help the Cole family cover the high costs of his intensive speech therapy.
The Daily Messenger will be providing more event details soon.
Donations and registration for the run or walk event can be made through the tax exempt organization "Neighbor to Neighbor" by visiting the web site: http://www.active.com/donate/stephencoleday
Donations can also be made direct to the tax exempt organization "Neighbor to Neighbor" C/O Robert Matson, 79 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Please note the check for "Stephen Cole".
Please consider sending this notice to your email contacts. That would help spread the word and make this event a success.
Thanks to all those who have already contributed and or who have volunteered to help with the Stephen Cole Day activities.
Thank you for helping the Cole family.
