State Aid

Yesterday, Comptroller Tom DiNapoli announced a new OSC Research Report calling for the modernization of state aid distributions to urban villages like Brockport that are more city-like than the traditional, historical definitional concept of a village. I have posted about the disparate situation that exists in funding allocations of state aid for municipalities in Monroe County- how Brockprot gets less per capita than Hilton, Fairport and East Rochester- and I am glad to see that the antiquated revenue sharing formula is getting a fresh, state-wide critique from the Comptroller. Here's a news article on the report. Here's the report itself in PDF. Here's the audio.
