Emergency Preparedness

From ICMA,

Do we have the partnership we need among the federal, state, and local governments to help the nation prevent, respond to, and recover from disasters? The consensus of the National Homeland Security Consortium is "not yet." Click here for the report.

Here in Brockport, we are making strides to become more prepared. For example, all responsible Village personnel have undergone NIMS training and we are in the process of updating our local Emergency Operating Plan (EOP). With a fully accredited police department, a 24/7 Communications Center, and an award-winning Fire/Ambulance Department we are well-prepared for emergency and safety concerns.

Sweden Senior Center

Congratulations to the Sweden Senior Center and Director Nancy Duff for receiving accreditation. We have a great relationship with the Senior Center. The Center has served as a rain-site location for our summer concerts and the Village Hall has been happy to serve as a host site for the taste testing of Center-made cookies.
